The latest victim

Charley dropped by tonight for his turn in the hot seat, as we jokingly refer to the stool front and center in front of the camera. Charley is the latest member of the Keller Williams Affiliate Referral Network to get his portrait done for the ARN portrait wall.

Talk about an easy subject. His easy going demeanor made the session a snap.

Meet Jessica

Jessica came to our Studio yesterday in order to get her senior portraits done. She brought a bunch of stuff with her, from her books to her prom dress to her karaoke machine. We had a real nice session with her. Here's a sneak peek.

Web Action Group

Cheryl and Steve Forkey from Web Action Group came to the studio last night for some headshots for a project they are working on. As they are husband and wife I convinced them to do one together. :) What a cute couple. She's put up with him They've been happily married for 25+ years!

Homecoming Dance

Alvirne held their homecoming dance tonight, and Nikki finally got to get all dolled up without her braces. So we got actual smiles. :) Nik's older sister Kat, home from UNH for the weekend, spent hours curling her hair and doing her makeup. Looks great, doesn't it?

Harry and Nikki dropped by the studio for a couple of quick shots before heading to the dance.

Becca and Shaun (and Sophie, too!)

This stretch of lovely weather we have been having has been great, but it sure makes outdoor sessions a trip! But you don't get nice foliage in the studio, so we went outside for a little session on Saturday. Caught the colors in a good stage.

Just a little taste of the session, which ended up at the studio for a bit as well. It was a great day and we had a fun session, and Sophie is a great dog.

Headshot Thursday

With the yearbook deadline being today, we were a bit surprised to get a late bird, but we did yesterday. Nikkie came in for a yearbook picture, eager to get something besides the omnipresent "hand on the tree" pose. We were only too happy to oblige.

We also did some headshots of local business people. The outtakes are more fun than the "good" ones, so I'll post them instead. :)

"We're gonna take this very seriously"

"Ok, now, can you both look serious?"

And a bonus image of Tami, who wanted "something different, maybe outside" for her business portrait. We did a quick circuit of the surrounding area and came up with this one. Tami was a good sport, doing whatever we asked of her. At one point we thought we might lose her into the river, but fortunately she caught her balance just in time. Now THAT would have been "something different". LOL

A Smashing Good Time

The Grand Opening Celebration was a smashing success, and we saw a lot of great people throughout the afternoon. We are looking forward to seeing a number of you again as we do your sessions over the next few weeks! We are really looking forward to that.

Great food, great drinks, great fun. We had a blast and hope you did also. The rain even (mostly) held off so that was nice. Thank you for enjoying our space and sharing our hospitality and having some fun on a Saturday afternoon.

The calm before the storm.

Some of the chow

The kids loved the chocolate fountain.

Having fun.

She drinks like her daddy! Pinky extended! ;)

Did I mention the kids like the chocolate fountain?

Don't miss our Grand Opening Celebration!

It's THIS Saturday. And while it does not appear that the weather is going to cooperate, we are still planning on having a great time. We will be raffling off prizes, and you have to show up to get in on it. You don't have to be present to win, but you do need to physically attend the opening to get your ticket. They will be one per customer, but if you bring your kids or friends they will each get one too. The grand prize is a photo session complete with a framed wall portrait. But there will be other prizes, too.

And food. We have some special treats for you all, with all sorts of special items from Dynamite, King's Court and some homemade foodstuffs as well. We will also have an assortment of beverages to suit virtually any palate.

Don't forget the grand opening special pricing for sessions booked during the celebration. This is an event that is not to be missed! We are looking forward to seeing you there!

Where has the time gone?

How is it possible that it is already the third week of September?

I feel remiss. Seriously. We are the "business of the month" at Hampshire First Bank. How I have left this go uncommented upon I can't tell you. We are tickled to have been selected, and happy to have our display in the bank lobby. But I was reminded how difficult it is to shoot through glass! Sheesh!

A girl called Astra

We at Studio Mark Emile consider ourselves to have been lucky this year. We have a beautiful new studio in a great location. And we have been getting some great kids this year, that have truly been a joy to work with.

It continues with Astra, a lovely girl whom we had the pleasure to photograph tonight. An autumn nip is in the air, and it's one of those crisp evenings with a cloudless sky and hint of a breeze that lets you know that the warmth of summer is soon to be gone for good. But there is plenty of gorgeous light to be had, and we certainly had our share tonight.

Astra continues the run of sweet, photogenic girls we've had this year. Great skin, great personality. We don't know what we've done to deserve this, but we hope it continues. Without any further ado, we present Astra:

Pretty light, pretty girl

There is no substitute.
