Dog Day

We had our dog day at America's Pets last Saturday, and had a great time photographing all manner of dogs. And all shapes and sizes! A few people missed out on this event, but all is not lost, you can call the studio and book an appointment for your pet for a full pet session, or you can wait until fall when we have a similar event prior to Christmas, also at America's Pets.

Note that while all of the animals were photographed on dog day were of the canine variety, we are happy to photograph most anything. Snakes, lizards, cats, birds. Aren't sure if your pet is too "out there"? Give us a call at the studio. 603.886.0957

Maria

Maria came into the studio this afternoon, for her studio session. She was so fun! We had a blast. She was game for all sorts of stuff, and I am looking forward to next week's session! It promises to be very different! Here are a few of today's shots:

The Itsy Bitsy Spider

Yesterday, when hanging the "open" flag, I spied a tiny green spider on the flagpole holder. I showed it to my wife and she suggested I get a shot of it. Why not? So I dragged the tripod and got the macro lens and extension tube and got this teeny little spider as big as I could. For reference, that top lip is 1/4". Kinda cute, isn't he (she?)

A total of 4 exposures were required to get this much depth of field.

The spider has been identified as a little green orb weaver spider, araneus cingulatus.

Click on the above link for the electronic version of today's article by Michelle Collins in the Nashua Telegraph on creative senior portraits. Three of our current spokesmodels made the paper with images from our sessions. See pages 7 and 8 in today's paper. Congrats to you!

Here are some of the other shots we provided, which were not chosen to run but which received favorable reviews by the reporter:

Check out tomorrow's paper!

Studio Mark Emile seniors from 2009 and 2010: read the Nashua Telegraph on Friday. Maybe your picture will be in the paper! A reporter is doing an article on modern senior portraits, and yours truly was interviewed after the reporter went by our Main St studio. I sent her some photos: maybe one is yours! Tell your friends to look for you.

Front Row Seat for the Fireworks

Dad owns a building right behind where the fireworks are set off in Nashua each Independence Day. This year I went up on the roof with my tripod to photograph the festivities. It was awesome. A really fantastic show was enjoyed by all in the clear, beautiful night. Here are a few of my faves.

One year ago today

Do you know what you were doing a year ago today? We know what we were doing. We were feverishly preparing to rip the paper down and reveal the studio to the public for the first time. It was close to midnight by the time we were done, but what a satisfying feeling.

We've come a long way in the last year. And have much farther still to go to become THE studio everyone wants to go to. Rest assured we have not lost a bit of fire. We continually challenge ourselves to be MORE creative, MORE fun, and a better experience for you. We have some really interesting ideas on tap for the right subjects. And as always, we remain open to your ideas. We LOVE doing things a little bit differently, and being "outside of the box". Stay tuned over the coming weeks for more examples!
