A Smashing Good Time

The Grand Opening Celebration was a smashing success, and we saw a lot of great people throughout the afternoon. We are looking forward to seeing a number of you again as we do your sessions over the next few weeks! We are really looking forward to that.

Great food, great drinks, great fun. We had a blast and hope you did also. The rain even (mostly) held off so that was nice. Thank you for enjoying our space and sharing our hospitality and having some fun on a Saturday afternoon.

The calm before the storm.

Don't miss our Grand Opening Celebration!

It's THIS Saturday. And while it does not appear that the weather is going to cooperate, we are still planning on having a great time. We will be raffling off prizes, and you have to show up to get in on it. You don't have to be present to win, but you do need to physically attend the opening to get your ticket. They will be one per customer, but if you bring your kids or friends they will each get one too. The grand prize is a photo session complete with a framed wall portrait. But there will be other prizes, too.

And food. We have some special treats for you all, with all sorts of special items from Dynamite, King's Court and some homemade foodstuffs as well. We will also have an assortment of beverages to suit virtually any palate.

Don't forget the grand opening special pricing for sessions booked during the celebration. This is an event that is not to be missed! We are looking forward to seeing you there!

Where has the time gone?

How is it possible that it is already the third week of September?

I feel remiss. Seriously. We are the "business of the month" at Hampshire First Bank. How I have left this go uncommented upon I can't tell you. We are tickled to have been selected, and happy to have our display in the bank lobby. But I was reminded how difficult it is to shoot through glass! Sheesh!

A girl called Astra

We at Studio Mark Emile consider ourselves to have been lucky this year. We have a beautiful new studio in a great location. And we have been getting some great kids this year, that have truly been a joy to work with.

It continues with Astra, a lovely girl whom we had the pleasure to photograph tonight. An autumn nip is in the air, and it's one of those crisp evenings with a cloudless sky and hint of a breeze that lets you know that the warmth of summer is soon to be gone for good. But there is plenty of gorgeous light to be had, and we certainly had our share tonight.

Astra continues the run of sweet, photogenic girls we've had this year. Great skin, great personality. We don't know what we've done to deserve this, but we hope it continues. Without any further ado, we present Astra:

Pretty light, pretty girl

Fun with KC & Family

KC wanted to come in with his family for portraits and to get something fun to put on his Christmas cards. We had a blast. It was one of those sessions where everyone is having such a fun time you don't want it to end. KC was wise to schedule this early, so there will be plenty of time to get cards made. Hint, hint. :)

One of the potential card shots.

At the end the session degenerated into the pure fun of playing with props and hamming it up. Nicole and Jeremy

Then the session really went to the dogs. LOL

Boy's toys

Greg is an interesting character whose mother insisted he get senior portraits taken. To describe him an unenthusiastic at the prospect would probably be generous, but he came along with mom to the senior portrait consultation anyway. An important part of the portrait consultation from our point of view is getting to know the senior. Turns out he likes to play football, and is a serious paintball enthusiast. When we told him we would be incorporating these aspects into his senior portraits, he suddenly became interested. :) We had fun.

It's really getting down to the wire for those of you seniors who will be needing yearbook photos. If you haven't called for a session yet, now is the time. We are also getting calls from people who hate their senior portraits. You are only a senior once; you really don't want to hate them. Give us a call; we'll take care of you.

The obligatory yearbook shot. Rules are rules, LOL.

The letterman cometh.

Just gimme the ball.

Paintball, anyone?

40 years, wow!

It was a special privilege today to photograph a rare event: a 40th anniversary. Held at the Manchester Country Club, the occasion was a surprise to the bride. How fun is that? A major part of the festivities was the vow renewal. We had a great time photographing what amounts to a mini-wedding.

Rachel returns

Rachel returned to Studio Mark Emile for her studio session this afternoon. She might have been a little under the weather, but it's hard to tell!
