Our spokesmodel Tyler had his location session tonight, accompanied by his wheaten terrier, Blaze. The thunderstorm had thankfully passed, and we were able to have a fun session, getting plenty of variety.
One of the things you get at Studio Mark Emile is individual treatment. You aren't the same as everybody else, you are an individual. Shouldn't your images be similarly unique?
Tyler tells me some of you are concerned that you have already paid your deposits to the contract photographer, so you "have" to go to him. No you don't! If you haven't had your session yet, you can get the session fee refunded. If you have, we will give you studio credit for the session fee. You DON'T have to settle for mediocrity!
Here's a sample of tonight's session:

Lucky 13
This is the sort of session I could never have attempted in my residential studio. I don't think you could have fit 13 people in the room, much less lit them or composed them into a frame. So I am very pleased to have the space to handle such a substantial group. Given the size of the group, I was pleasantly surprised by how well everyone cooperated, and how easily we were able to complete the session. I think we did quite well.

Sister, sister
This is my father's sister, who is also another kind of sister. That's right, she's a nun. In fact, next year she will have been a nun for 50 years. I think that's amazing. She doesn't look much like a nun, if you ask me. She's come a long way since the habit! I was delighted to have the opportunity to photograph her this afternoon.

Gina's location session
Tonight we had our outdoor session with Gina, one of our spokesmodels at Alvirne. She is such a natural and has such a nice personality that it is truly a pleasure to photograph her. Some unexpected clouds brought our session to a premature close, but it was a fun session nonetheless.
Seniors- now is the time to get your sessions scheduled. We are starting to book up and you don't want to miss you chance to get your session scheduled for the most convenient time for you.
And those of you who have been by the studio, you will notice that Gina is a familiar face at Studio Mark Emile. Gina is already on display in the front window.

One week on
We've made it through our first week, and we are happy but exhausted. Lots and lots of progress this week, though much of it as pedestrian as installing the printer. We are more than ready for our first round of portrait sessions. Bring it on!
For those of you who heard the saga of the flag holder, it is indeed finally (and presumably permantly) mounted. Amen.
The current incarnation of our front door.
The new decals 1.
The new decals 2.

Here we are!
One of the tough calls is deciding when you are done "enough" to tear down the paper and show yourself to the world. Well, we were at the studio until midnight on Thursday getting it ready. So here it is.
We will be open for foot traffic on Monday. Woo hoo! Stop by and book a session.
The left display case:
The front of the store (there is lighting yet to be installed).
The front of the store in daylight.
The north side.
